Maverine Harris Hobson

Hobson Yadkinville- Mrs. Maverine Harris Hobson, 75, of Union Grove Church Road passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born April 27, 1938 in Yadkin County to the late Calvin and Pansy Sizemore Harris. Mrs. Hobson was co-owner and operator of East Bend Hardware, with her husband, for over 25 years. She was a devoted member of Union Grove Baptist Church where she lovingly taught the 4and 5 years old Sunday School Class for 51 years. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister, Avonell Livengood, nad brother-in-law, Eugene Livengood. Surviving are her beloved husband of 57 years, Franklin Hobson, of the home; her brother, Billy (Mattie) Harris, East Bend; 2 nephews, Brent (Dawn) Harris ; Barry (Odeana) Harris; nieces, Marsha (Mark) Russell, Cassandra (Brent) Davis, Donna (Wayne) Hicks, Selena (Roy) Adams; 4 great-nieces; and her brother-in-law, and sister-in-law, Houston and Shelba Frye, of Yadkinville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be held 2:30 PM Saturday at Union Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Kenny Gooden. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
