Jerry Dean Adams

Hamptonville Mr. Jerry Dean Adams, 69, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Yadkin Valley Community Hospital with his loving family by his side. Mr. Adams was born September 30, 1943 in Yadkin County to Ellis and Lucy Hutchens Adams. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Mr. Adams loved to farm and enjoyed riding his horses and working his mules. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, a great friend to so many. In addition to his parents, Mr. Adams was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Davis and a special uncle, Gurney Adams. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Patsy Hutchens Adams; two children, Richard Dean (Gale) Adams and JerriAnn Michelle Adams (Mathew Throne); mother-in-law, Frances Hutchens; three granddaughters, Sabrina Stokes, Meagan (David) Lilly, and Maggie Stokes (Lee Hayes); one great granddaughter, Abigale Pinnix; a special niece, Sammy Jo Reece; brothers-in-law, Bobby Davis, Gary (Jeannie) Hutchens, and Ronnie (Vickie) Hutchens; sisters-in-law, Minnie Kay (Mike) Southern and Charlotte (Randy) Brooks; nephews, Benford (Ronda) Davis and Roger Davis; and several other nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 2:00PM at Solid Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Wiles officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice, PO Box 1267 Yadkinville, NC 27055 or to Solid Rock Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3448 Pilot View Church Rd, Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the special friends from Solid Rock Baptist Church, and the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice and Yadkin Valley Community Hospital for all the love, care, and support shown to Mr. Adams during his illness.
