James "Jim" Willie Ellis

Mr. James "Jim" Ellis, 80, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Dunmore Plantation in Dobson. He was born February 10, 1933 in Wilkes County to the late Paul and Dossie Ellis. Mr. Ellis was a retired Truck Driver for Holly Farms and Tyson Foods. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Larry Mitchell. Surviving are his beloved wife, Cynthia Swisher Ellis, of the home; a daughter, Mary Swisher Mitchell, Yadkinville; grandson, Shannon Mitchell; sister, Lois Ellis; and a brother, Bob (Jackie) Ellis. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Wednesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will follow the visitation on Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Hewey Parrish, Rev. Junior Thompson, and Rev. Eric Morrison. Burial will follow in the Branon Friends Church Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Dunmore Plantation for the love and care shown to Mr. Ellis.
