Robert Garvey Burchette, Sr.

Burchette Yadkinville - Robert Garvey Burchette, Sr., 89, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born December 1, 1923 in Wilkes County to the late Dewitt and Julia Mathis Burchette. Garvey and his wife Nell owed Casstevens Hardware and he also was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Casstevens Burchette; children, Jack and Jean Burchette; one brother; four sisters. Surviving are his children, Robert G. (Mary) Burchette, Jr., Karen Burchette; grandchildren, Robert G. Burchette, III, Timothy S. (Caitlin) Burchette, Lisa Massey; great grandson, Cameron Thompson. His funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Ken Boaz. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, otherwise at the house of Robert G. (Mary) Burchette.
