Jonesville Mr. George David Casstevens, 85, of Jonesville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 2, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was born May 27, 1928 in Yadkin County to Tom and Bessie Caudle Casstevens. George was a retired State Highway Department Superintendent and a veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents, Mr. Casstevens was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy, Fred, Charlie, and Donald Casstevens; and two sisters, Irene Pinnix and Ruby Oakes. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ruth Holleman Casstevens; a son, David (Pam) Casstevens; a daughter, Sherrie (Sandy) Randleman; grandchildren, Ashley Randleman, Seth Randleman, Kaelea Casstevens, Jayna-Beth Dinkins, and Ashlyn Kimrey; two great grandchildren, Madylene Kimrey and Gracie Dinkins; two brothers, Mitchell (Coralee) Casstevens nad Frankie (Marilyn) Casstevens. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11:00AM at Island Ford Baptist Church cemetery with Pastor Rodney Canter and Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. Full military honors will be provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346.
