Reuben Leon Swaim

Hamptonville Mr. Reuben Leon Swaim, 73, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 at his home. Mr. Swaim was born November 15, 1939 in Wilkes County to Reuben and Hazel Johnson Swaim. He was a member of Swan Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Swaim was preceded in death by his wife, Harlene Beulin Swaim. He is survived by three children, Daniel Swaim, Tammy (Michael) Poteat, and Kristy (Emory) Casstevens; eight grandchildren, Dusty (Krystal) Swaim, Bo Swaim, Daniel (Destiny) Swaim, Megan Poteat, Haley Poteat, Hunter Poteat, Matthew Poteat, and Kassey Casstevens; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred (Johnny) Freeman and Peggy (Buster) Harris; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Friday evening at 6:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Jonesville with Rev. Jim Holbrook officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Gentry Funeral Service.
