Winston Salem Mr. Lloyd Denton Willard, 80, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Willard was born September 29, 1932 in Yadkin County to Roscoe and Texas Ann Willard. He was a member of Mt. Nebo Church of Christ and was retired from Epes Transport. Mr. Willard enjoyed hunting, antique cars, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Willard was preceded in death by three sisters, Grace (John) Sizemore, Helen (Homer) Wilbanks, and Maxine Johnson; and four brothers, James (Treva) Willard, Fred (Avonelle) Willard, H.T. (Ruby) Willard, and Floyd D. Willard. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty Reavis Willard; two children, Christopher (Marilyn) Willard and Tamara (James) Johnson; three grandchildren, Lindsay D. Matthews, Kyle L. Matthews, and Zane G. Johnson; one sister, Almeta (Weldon) Idol; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 1:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Dennis Conner officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Nebo Church of Christ cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311 or to Mt. Nebo Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, 2821 Round Hill Road Boonville, NC 27011. The family wishes to thank the staff of Forsyth Medical Center ER, Dr. Scott Moore, and Piedmont Dialysis Center Home Care for all the love, care, and support shown to Mr. Willard during his illness.
