Bobby Ray Johnson

Johnson East Bend- Mr. Bobby Ray Johnson, 73, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born July 21, 1940 in Yadkin County to the late Ray and Evelyn Doub Johnson. Mr. Johnson worked his life as a farmer, and was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with several years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his family, and loved the time he was able to spend with each of them. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister and a brother. Surviving are his beloved wife of 53 years, Martha Pilcher Johnson of the home; his children, Vernon Johnson, Lartha (Danny) Murphy, Randy Johnson, and Donna (David) Matthews, all of East Bend; Grandchildren, Kim Butler, Josh (Krystal) Butler, Nichole (Dean) Ashburn, Wendy(Tyler) Jones, Grant Matthews, Kendria Johnson, Travis Johnson; Great-Grandchildren, Camryn Seagraves, Dallas Ashburn, Kyara Butler, Hoyt Butler, Parker Ashburn, Ryleigh Ashburn; 4 sisters and 3 brothers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev.
