Ruth Thomasene "Tommi" Dobson

Ruth Thomasene "Tommi" Dobson, 72, passed away Friday September 27, 2013. She was born December 20, 1940 in Yadkin County to Thomas and Annie Ruby Grinton Dobson. Ms. Dobson retired from teaching with the Greensboro city schools. She also sang many years with the Sweet Adelines International. She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Dobson; Four sisters Carolyn Porter, Florence Graham, Tena Hayes and Shelby Scales. Surviving are her Mother Annie Ruby Grinton Dobson; four sisters Ila (Tommy) Hampton, Nicye Young, Gwen (Tommy) Andrews and Virginia (George) Scott; very devoted nephew Lawrence Dobson; two god children Deidra Adams and George Scott, Jr.; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Tuesday October 1, 2013 at Gentry Family funeral service in Yadkinville. Her funeral will be conducted at 2:00 following the visitation by Rev.
