Betty Jean Shore Gray

- Mrs. Betty Jean Shore Gray, 77, passed away peacefully October 3, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born February 5, 1936 in Yadkin County to the late Beecher and Ruby Calloway Shore. Mrs. Gray was retired from Unifi Inc. with 26 years of service. She was a devoted member of Dennyville Baptist Church where she served her church by cooking for church events, and singing in the church choir as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Gray loved her church and church family. She took pride working in her yard, garden, and especially her flowers. She enjoyed sharing the fruits of her garden with others, especially enjoyed decorating for Christmas, and cooking Christmas breakfast for her family and friends. Mrs. Gray was happiest when she was doing something for others. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, James Roy Gray, of the home; beloved son, Jakie Wilson Gray, and wife, Cindy of Kernersville; grandchildren, Glenn Alford and Debbie Alford; and several cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Dennyville Baptist Church by Rev. Dwayne Byrd, Rev. Kenneth Jordan, and Rev. Joel Riley. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude for all of the prayers and support given to them by various churches, family, and friends.
