Lola York Mickles

Mickles East Bend - Lola "Sister" Grey York Mickles, 67, after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease, she was called home to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2013. She finished her journey here on earth and ascended to heaven, surrounded by her children, friends, and family at her home. For those of us blessed by her love and friendship, this is a heartbreaking loss, but a comfort to know she can finally be at rest with her loved one in heaven. She was born November 29, 1945 in Yadkin County to the late Lewis Martin York and Dora Groce York. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Powell MIckles; brothers, Monroe York, Charlie York. Surviving are her children, Chad (Barbara) Mickles, Holly (Chad) Pilcher; grandchildren, Tyler Pilcher, Katlynn Mickles; sister, Jane Pinnix; brothers, Tommy (Elaine) York, Jimmy (Glenda) York; sisters-in-law, Beverly York, Nancy York. Her funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Michael Thames. Burial will follow at Huntsville Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
