Max Lee Kirk

Kirk East Bend - Max Lee Kirk, 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 25, 2013. Max was born November 18, 1931 in Yadkin County to the late Paul Jones Kirk and Hattie Lee Angell Kirk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vernie Mae Davis Kirk. Surviving are his two sons, Steve (Cathy) Kirk and Barry Kirk; a daughter, Denise (Chris) Bullin; six grandchildren, Holly (Brian) Reavis, Stephanie Kirk (Darren Todd), Kristen (Matthew) Adams, Kirk Casstevens, Kaylee Bullin, and Michelle Gaddis; 4 great-grandchildren, Janet Gaddis, Hayden Reavis, Ty Reavis, and Austin Reavis; and many very special friends and neighbors. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who devoted his life to his family and working on the farm alongside his late wife, Vernie, and son, Steve. Max also served many years at the Taylor's Tobacco Warehouse in Winston-Salem. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Friendship Baptist Church and will be officiated by Reverend Brian Poindexter. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville and would like to express their sincere appreciation for all the visits, phone calls, cards, and prayers.
