Susie Matthews Wooten

Susie Matthews Wooten, 100, passed away Wednesday October 30, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born September 11, 1913 in Yadkin County to the late Joseph Frances "Frank Bill" and Eliza Jane Choplin Matthews. She was the oldest member of Prospect United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy Chester Wooten; four sisters Mae Matthews, Rosie Crissman, Vena Brown, and Vermal Matthews; three brothers Baxter Matthews, Virgil Matthews, and William Wesley Matthews. Surviving are her son Joseph Wooten, several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday November 2, 2013 at Prospect United Methodist Church by Rev. Greg Gordon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of New Horizans Home Care for the help they provided and the loving care given to Mrs. Wooten.
