Gough Yadkinville- Mrs. Melva Legans Gough, 73, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born December 4, 1939 in Yadkin County to the late Roland and Frances Reavis Legans. Mrs. Gough was retired from McLean Trucking and was owner and operator of Flowerland Florist in Yadkinville for 15 years. She was an active faithful member of Deep Creek Baptist Church where she served the church as a member of the choir, choir director and organist for several years, and was elected the first female deacon for the church. She loved her family and the time she was able to spend with them, either by traveling on vacations or cooking for special occasions. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Nora Reavis, Frank and Lillie Legans. Surviving are her beloved husband of 52 years, L.J. "Junior" Gough, of the home; her loving son, Tracy Gough, and his wife, Shannon of Pfafftown; and a cousin, Dean and Claudia Reavis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be held 7:00PM Thursday at Deep Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Rick Paige and Dr. Ron Davis. Her interment will follow the service at 10:00 AM Friday in the Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Deep Creek Baptist Church Choir Fund, 2400 Old Stage Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family would like to express their gratitude to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice home and to Hospice of Davie County for all the loving care and support given to Mrs. Gough and her family.
