JoAnn Shore Shaffner

Shaffner Hamptonville- Mrs. JoAnn Shore Shaffner, 61, of Sloans Mill Road passed away Monday, December 23, 2013 at her home. She was born July 7, 1952 in Iredell County to the late Lester and Nora Brooks Shore. Mrs. Shaffner was retired from Indera Mills, and had been disabled for the last 23 years. She was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, and was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister Carol Shore Sloop. Surviving are her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Stacy Jones, Hamptonville; Grandchildren, Lela "Her Heartbeat" Stringer, Henry "Her Dinosaur Man" Jones; special children she loved as her own, Brittany Wood, Kendall Wood, Preston Money, Makayla Money, Lauren Stone, Courtney Stone, Richard Shaffner, Chris Shaffner, Brian Spicer, Bailey Goforth, Shore Goforth, Shane Shore; her brothers and sisters, Charles and Ola Shore, Kenneth and Vena Shore, Wayne and Vickie Shore, Luther "Shorty" Shore, Dorothy Stone, Betty and R.V. Reece, Joan Hinson, Brenda and Preston Stringer, Donna and Jr. Goforth; her former husband, Jimmy Shaffner; and sister-in-law, Cathy Shaffner, and Diane Holeman Marshall. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Her funeral service will follow the visitation on Saturday at 2:00 PM with Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev.
