- Mr. Gerald Patrick Healy, 80, of Pine Valley Drive passed away Tuesday December 24, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in New Orleans, La, on December 18, 1933 to the late Thomas Morris Healy, Jr. and Olga Adams Healy. Mr. Healy was a graduate of Marist High School in Atlanta, Ga, and Southern College of Pharmacy in Atlanta, Ga. He also served in the US Naval Reserve for several years. Mr. Healy worked as a Pharmacist with Crown Drugs, Eckerd Drugs and Rite-Aid Drugs in Yadkinville since 1974. He retired 5 years ago. He was a life-long devoted Roman Catholic. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Thomas Morris Healy III, Elaine Marie Healy, Donald P. Healy, Miriam Healy Gibson, and Eileen Healy Smith. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Billie Perdue Healy, of the home; children, Patricia Healy Gambrell, and husband, Edward, of Clarkesville, Ga.; Karen Healy Carver, and husband, Fred, of Powder Springs, Ga.; Louis Morris Healy, and wife, Katherine of Yadkinville, NC; and Gregory Boyce Healy, and wife, Angela, of Yulee, Fla.; his cherished Grandchildren, William, Kinch, John, Patrick, Stephen, Ashton, Christopher, Christy, Robert, Gregory, Thomas, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Abby, and Dolores. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, James Dennis Healy, Louis Douglas Healy, Doris Healy Schneider, and Kathleen C. Healy. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, December 27, 2013 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday by Rev. Fr. Timothy Sick. His Requiem Mass will be Celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday at the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Fr. Timothy Sick. Burial Service will follow in Yadkin Memorial Gardens.
