Kenneth Gray Swaim

Swaim Yadkinville- Mr. Kenneth Gray Swaim, 71, of Shacktown Road passed away Tuesday December 24, 2013 at his home. He was born June 13, 1942 in Yadkin County to the late Atlas and Helen Inscore Swaim. Mr. Swaim worked for several years with R.J.R./Nabisco and was retired from Kraft Foods. He was an active and faithful member, as long as his health permitted, of Forbush Baptist Church where he had served the church as a Youth and Adult Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, Chairman of Deacons, and several committees including the Pastor Search and Budget/ Finance. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and member of Forbush Ruritan Club, and Elkin Community Chorus. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Christine Burchette. Surviving are his beloved wife of 45 years, Rickie Ann Swaim of the home; 2 sons, Kenric David Swaim and wife, Tara, of Yadkinville; Kenan Gray Swaim and wife, Joanna of Charlotte; grandchildren, Madison Grace Hall, Jade Lily Swaim, Roman Banner Swaim, Scarlett Ruth Swaim; sister, Doris "Dot" Stokes, Hamptonville; 5 loving aunts; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be 3:00 PM Sunday at Forbush Baptist Church by Rev. Greg Anderson and Rev. Joe Souther. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Full Military Honors by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family would like to express their appreciation to Mountain Valley Hospice and Added Touch Home Care for their loving care given to Mr. Swaim.
