Naomi "Homie" Bryant

Hamptonville Ms. Naomi "Homie" Bryant, 80, passed away December 26, 2013 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Ms. Bryant was born February 17, 1933 in Surry County to Rev. Madison and Annie Taylor Bryant. She faithfully attended Marler Road Baptist church as long as her health permitted. In addition to her parents, Ms. Bryant was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Elizabeth Lawson; and two infant brothers. She is survived by a niece, Rachel (Ronnie) Roberts; one great nephew, Johnny (Donette) Roberts; one great niece, Jenny Bates; one great-great nephew, Lawson Bates; and three great-great nieces, Layla and Ella Bates and Sarah Roberts. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 2:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Jonesville with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Bryant Chapel Family Cemetery in Ararat, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to their family, church family, Mtn. Valley Hospice, and the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center for all the love, care, and support shown to Ms. Bryant.
