Jonesville Mr. Charles Gray Hutchens, 58, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Friday, December 27, 2013 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Hutchens was born February 24, 1955 in Surry County to Gray and Catherine Anthony Hutchens. He was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church. Charles enjoyed riding his motorcycle and restoring old cars. Mr. Hutchens was preceded in death by his father and an infant sister. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Donna Groce Hutchens; two children, Emily and Benjamin Hutchens; K-9 Companion, Rocky; mother-in-law, Stacie (Junior) Miller; father-in-law, James (Patricia) Groce; sister-in-law, Lisa (Shawn) Sparks; and several other family members and friends. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, December 30, 2013 at 2:00PM at Fall Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Don Hudson and Rev. Jimmy Pardue officiating and special friend Tony Spagnoleti as a speaker. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:30 to 8:30PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Jonesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017 or to Fall Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 3320 Fall Creek Church Rd, Jonesville, NC 28642. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Woltz Hospice Home, Dr. Golaszewski, Dr. Kundu, Dr. Vatca, Dr. Peterson, and the staff of Elkin Pediatrics & Adult Medicine for all the love, care, and support shown to Charles and his family during this difficult journey.
