Marvin Leroy Speaks

Yadkinville Mr. Marvin Leroy Speaks, 74, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014. Mr. Speaks was born January 15, 1939 in Iredell County to Leroy and Gracie Graham Speaks. He retired from Stroh's Brewery in Winston Salem and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Speaks was preceded in death by his wife, Marva Carson Speaks; a daughter, Vicke Speaks Steele; and two brothers, James and Hosey Speaks. He is survived by two grandchildren, Marcia (Steven) Wilks and Deryl (Darci) Wilson; seven great grandchildren, Marissa, Melanni, and Steven James Wilks and Korey, Kiera, Ryan, and Ava Wilson; two sisters, Jean Glenn and Joann Valentine; three brothers, Tommy Speaks, Gray (Gladys) Speaks, and Freddie (Brenda) Speaks; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 1:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Yadkinville. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
