Esther Viola Macemore Shutt

Esther Viola Macemore Shutt, 102, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Yadkin Nursing Center. She was born October 5, 1911 in Yadkin County to the late John William Macemore and Rosa Lee Cook Macemore. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy Bailey Shutt, Sr., three sisters, Nell Macemore, Lula Evans, Erma Combs; four brothers, Dee Macemore, Charlie Macemore, Henderson Macemore, and Walter Macemore. Surviving are her son Roy (Ruth) Shutt; grandchildren Bailey Shutt, Barney (Kim) Shutt, Brent Shutt, and Teresa (Martin) Carlson; great grandchildren Levi Shutt, Ivy Serbic, Ben Shutt, Miller Shutt, and Adeline Carlson. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Her funeral will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville by Rev. Roger Groce. Burial will follow in the Swaims Baptist Church cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone who gave their loving care to Mrs. Shutt over the past few years, especially the doctors, nurs4es, and staff at Yadkin nursing Center.
