James Lamarr Reavis

Reavis Yadkinville- Dr. James Lamarr Reavis, 78, of East Main Street passed away January 23, 2014 at his home. He was born March 18, 1935 in Yadkin County to the late Willis and Lacie Reavis. Dr. Reavis, or "Doc" as he was lovingly known, retired after several years of service as a Chiropractic Doctor in Yadkinville. He was a faithful member of Deep Creek Baptist Church, veteran of the US Army, and member of the American Legion Post 505. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judith Elaine Reavis. Surviving are his children, Derek and Stephanie Reavis, of Mooresville, Heather and Barry Holbrook, of Yadkinville; Carla and Michael Lee of Laurinburg, NC; grandchildren, Matthew Lee, Melinda Chapman, Jordon Lane, Emily Reavis, Kaitlyn Reavis; Great-Grandchildren, Keira Chapman, Tristan Chapman, Giulianna Chapman; brothers, Dr. Jerry Reavis, Oldtown, and Donnie Reavis, Yadkinville. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday at Deep Creek Baptist Church. His Celebration of Life Service will follow the visitation Sunday at 3:00 PM in the Church with Dr. Hubert Wishon and Rev. Rick Page, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Deep Creek Baptist Church Long Range Planning Fund, 2400 Old Stage Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
