Eloise Vestal Blackburn

Clemmons Mrs. Eloise Vestal Blackburn, 87, formerly of Jonesville, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Blackburn was born April 26, 1926 in Surry County to Fern and Linnie Hemric Vestal. She was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Blackburn was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Barney Lee Blackburn; three children, Sharon Blackburn Bertschi, Tony L. Blackburn and wife Evelyn, and Phyllis Blackburn McKee and husband Jonathan; five grandchildren, Rikki Bertschi and husband David Hanes, Joshua Blackburn, Emily McKee Novotney and husband Matthew, Zachary Blackburn, and Cameron McKee; and one great granddaughter, Roarke Penn Novotney. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 2:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Jonesville with Rev. Don Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fall Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 3320 Fall Creek Church Rd Jonesville, NC 28642 or to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Hospice for all the love, care, and support shown to Mrs. Blackburn during this difficult time.
