Blanche Hinshaw Williams

East Bend Mrs. Blanche Williams was born on December 4, 1919 in Yadkin County to the late Edgar and Ethel Hinshaw. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Chester H. Williams (in June 1995), and her five sisters: Dora Frances Hinshaw, Margaret Hinshaw Tuttle, Peggy Hinshaw Driver, Judith Hinshaw Matthews, and Edith Hinshaw Lineberry. She is survived by her daughters, Rilla (Charles) Williard and SuEllen (Gary) Branon, and her four grandchildren, Chuck (Denise) Williard of Winston-Salem, LeVay Penny of Charlotte, Leigh (Bronson) Michalofsky of Boonville, and Suzanne Branon of Raleigh. Mrs. Williams is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Charles, Courtney, and Micah Williard of Winston-Salem, Jackson and Anna Penny of Charlotte, and Skylar Michalofsky of Boonville. Mrs. Williams also had several special nieces and nephews: Gail Taylor, Marty Driver, Beth Holcomb, Brenda Matthews, Shirley Angel, Dan Lineberry, Phil Lineberry, Steve Lineberry, David Matthews, and Sam Tuttle. Mrs. Williams was also blessed with many friends and church family members from Richmond Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Williams was deeply devoted to her family and enjoyed a long life full of joy and laughter. She was an excellent cook and gardener, an enthusiastic fan of Wake Forest basketball and Atlanta Braves baseball, and a compassionate friend to all who crossed her path. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held at Richmond Hill Baptist Church on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 1:00pm, with funeral services at 2:00pm, officiated by Reverend Will Hamric. Mrs. Williams will be laid to rest in Richmond Hill Cemetery in a private family service. Donations may be made in her memory to Richmond Hill Baptist Church Food Pantry (2205 Richmond Hill Church Road, Boonville, NC, 27011). The family wishes to extend special thanks to Lottie Thomas, Opal Plowman, Betty Branon, and Wanell Wall for their love and care throughout the years. The family would also like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice and the Yadkin Nursing Center staff who were so wonderful to Mrs. Williams.
