William Marvin Tucker

Tucker East Bend- Mr. William Marvin Tucker, 69, of Shady Grove Church Road passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice home in Winston-Salem. He was born December 1, 1944 in Forsyth County to the late Aubrey and Blanche Denny Tucker. Mr. Tucker was retired from Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, was a faithful member of Faith Community Baptist Church in East Bend, and was a veteran of the US Army. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Bowen; and 2 brothers, Glenn Tucker and Earl Tucker. Surviving are his beloved wife of 47 years, Mary Carpenter Tucker, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Kelley Tucker of Winston-Salem; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Jason Scott of East Bend; grandchildren, Mackenzie Tucker, Austin Tucker, Nicole Scott, Natalie Scott; sister, Edna Lineberry, Winston-Salem; and his best friend he loved as a brother, Bill Smitherman. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Faith Community Baptist Church by Rev. Brian Poindexter. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Forsyth County, Mocksville office, and to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for all the loving care and support given to Mr. Tucker and his family.
