Annie Ruby Grinton Dobson

Annie Ruby Grinton Dobson, 103, passed away Thursday January 30, 2014 at Regency Care in Clemmons. She was born April 14, 1910 in Wilkes County to the late Jack Grinton and Narcissa Cundiff Grinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Thomas George Washington Dobson, five daughters Carolyn Porter, Florence Graham, Shelby Scales, Tina Hayes, and Ruth "Tommi" Dobson; a sister Carrie Lizzie Booe; three brothers Rufus Grinton, Willie Grinton, and Roosevelt Grinton. Surviving are her children Ila (Tommy) Hampton, Nicye Young, Gwen (Tommy) Andrews, Virginia (George) Scott; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several other family members. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:00 PM Wednesday February 5, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday February 5, 2015 at Gentry Family Chapel by Minister Kia Hood and Rev. Jerry Moore, Sr. Burial will follow at the First Presbyterian Church in Boonville. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Boonville First Presbyterian Church PO Box 885 Boonville, NC 27011 or Hospice of Forsyth County 101 Hospice Lane Winston- Salem, NC 27103.
