William Sanford Arnold

- Mr. William S. Arnold, 91, of Arnold Road passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mr. Arnold was born November 22, 1922 in Yadkin County to the late Will and Daisy Garner Arnold. He was retired from the State of North Carolina Department of Transportation, Bridge Maintenance Division for Iredell County, and was a member of Branon Friends Meeting. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Ila Hinkle, Anne Cain, Virginia Apple; and 2 brothers, H.H. Arnold and James Davis Arnold, Sr. Surviving are his special canine companion and friend, "Willie"; a sister, Polly Fuquay of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday at the Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Eric Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in Flat Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
