Peggy Lou Steelman Long

Peggy Lou Steelman Long, 81, passed away Sunday February 16, 2014 at her residence. She was born February 2, 1933 in Yadkin County to the late John Taylor Steelman and Bessie Shore Steelman. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fletcher "Doc" Long, two sisters Eva Calloway and Margaret Gough. Surviving are a daughter Christine Wilkins, a son John (Pam) Long; grandchildren Josh (Jessica) Brown, Nathan Brown, Briggs (Kevin) Greenwood, Courtney (Gavin) Brown; step grandchildren Dustin (Tonya) Wilkins, Shane Wilkins; great-grandchildren Berkley Brown, Harper Brown, Kenan, Brayden, Grayson, Lawson Greenwood; step great-grandchildren Lakan, Cass, Walker Wilkins, Kali Brooks; sister Martha Sanders; brother Bobby Steelman. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday February 18, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her service will be conducted at 11:00 Am Wednesday February 19, 2014 at Flat Rock Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to her caregivers Patsy, Jessica, Danielle, Deborah, and Mary for the loving care given to Mrs. Long.
