Joel Henry Hobbs

Hobbs Jonesville - Joel "Sonny" Henry Hobbs, 73, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Woltz Hospice Home. He was born April 25, 1940 in Guilford County to the late James Robert Hobbs and Vertie Elizabeth Moore Hobbs. In addition to his parents, his was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Southard Hobbs; brother, Wilbert Hobbs. Surviving are his children, Robin Hobbs, Randall "Dean" (Pam) Hobbs, Shawn (G.C.) Pardue; grandchildren, Matt (Anna) Pardue, Jonathan Hobbs, Marlee Pardue; great grandchild, Paige Pardue; sisters, Lois Hand, Lucille Walker, Nadine Allen, Dare Tinnin; brother, James "Tiny" Hobbs; special friend, Ruth Adams; several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Fall Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Don Hudson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville.
