Velma Wagoner Macemore

Hamptonville Mrs. Velma Gay Wagoner Macemore, 80, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Macemore was born December 20, 1933 in Yadkin County to Zeno and Cora Hayes Wagoner. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Macemore retired from the Health Department and Social Service with 30 years of service. She was a volunteer at West Yadkin School Reading Lab. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Macemore was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Driver. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Henderson "Junior" Macemore; two children, Dawn Driver and Darrell (Mary Lou) Macemore; four grandchildren, Jacob and Elisabeth Driver and Cody and Brandon Macemore; one brother, Steve (Denise) Wagoner; three sisters, Gilly Wall, Polly Brown, and Bonnie Shores; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Darlene Redman. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00AM at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Stewart and Rev. Trent Wall officiating. Burial will follow at Swaims Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Jonesville. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Shady Grove Baptist Church Choir. Online condolences may be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
