June Cheek Littlefield

Pamela "JUNE" Littlefield, age 60, of Jonesville, passed peacefully on March 8th, 2014, at her home. She was born on September 8, 1953 in Jonesville to Harold and Blanche Cheek. June was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesville. She is preceded in death by her father. Several years after graduating from Starmount High School and Surry Community College, June met the love of her life, Bill, in Oklahoma and eventually lived in Wyoming and Montana. While in MT, she served as a church clerk and was a Sunday school teacher for 4-5 year olds, as she loved children. They moved to NC in 2003 to be closer to her family. June was the captain of the Relay for Life team at Partners Behavioral Healthcare, where she worked for almost 10 years. June loved shopping with her mother and sisters, taking family trips to the beach, spending time with her grandchildren, and decorating for the holidays. She always brightened the room with her radiant smile and great sense of humor. June is survived by her husband, Bill Littlefield, of the home; mother Blanche Armstrong Cheek; sister Wanda Cockerham and husband Steve, nephews Trent and Matt; sister Phyllis Beshears and husband Gary, nephew Dustin Church, nieces Ashley Church and Callie Beshears; stepson Mark Littlefield and wife Amy, grandchildren Daniel and Jaci; stepdaughter Laura Littlefield Koch and husband Matt, grandchildren Hannah and Sarah; stepson Phillip Littlefield. The family would also like to recognize June's best friend, Diana Thomas, who stood by her side until the very end. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church in Jonesville on Monday, March 10th, 2014 from 6-8pm. The funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Jonesville on Tuesday, March 11th, 2014 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon and will be officiated by Reverend Roger Hensley. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Hamptonville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCan) or CaringBridge. Donations to the Yadkin Nursing Care Center's activity department would be appreciated, as June spent a great amount of time volunteering there.
