John Ray Hoots

Hoots Yadkinville - John Ray Hoots, 95, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014. He was born September 21, 1918 in Yadkin County to the late Fletcher Hoots and Mucie Allgood Hoots. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Gough Hoots; sisters, Phosa Reavis, Lola Mae Joyner; brothers, Robert Hoots, Max Hoots. Surviving are his children, Ann (Charles) Holden, Joan (Mark) Wooten; grandchildren, Ashley Holden, Jenna Raye (Jermey) Brown, Tyler Wooten; great grandchildren, Blake Shore, Katie Sealey, Makayla Brown, Lawson Brown; sisters, Betty Lou (Bristol) Renegar, Leta (Bill) Steelman. His funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Deep Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Rick Page and the Rev. Ron Davis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the N.C. National Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Deep Creek Baptist Church. Memorials can be made to Deep Creek Baptist Church, 2500 Old Stage Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Hoots family.
