Faye Hawks Hunter

East Bend Mrs. Faye Irene Hawks Hunter, 70, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Hunter was born July 10, 1943 in Surry County to Walter and Myrtle Marion Hawks. She was a member of Mount Bethel Baptist Church in East Bend and was a faithful member of the YMCA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gene Hunter; and a brother, Charles Marcus Hawks. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Alison Hunter and Amy (Jason) Anderson; five grandchildren, Nevin Hunter, Dylan Hunter, Breanna Smith, Samantha Anderson and David Anderson; three sisters, Louise Wagoner, Betty (Donald) Groce, and Brenda (Scotty) Fullerton; three brothers, Donald (Marie) Hawks, Michael (Janice) Hawks, and Robbie Hawks; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 2:00PM at Mount Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Watts officiating, where she will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 4033 Mt Bethel Church Rd, East Bend, NC 27018. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to their friends and family for all the love, prayers, and support shown to them during this difficult time.
