J. C. Martin, Jr.

J. C. Martin, Jr., 64, passed away Wednesday April 2, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born August 7, 1949 in Yadkin County to the late J.C. Martin, Sr. and Georgia Kimber Martin. Mr. Martin was a member of New Patterson Grove faith Church where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Martin served with the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Surviving are his wife Glenda Thompson Martin; children Dean Martin, Shannon Martin, Etta Sawyer, Wytonia (Toni) Kimber, Kevin Kimber; eleven grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday April 5, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday April 6, 2014 at New Patterson Grove Faith Church by Rev. Dr. James Grant. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Full Military Honors by the NC National Guard and the VFW Post 10346.
