James David Driver

Mr. James David Driver, of Yadkinville, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. He was born December 24, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Thomas c. and Gertrude Dixon Driver. He was a graduate of the Class of 1959, Yadkinville High School, and was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Driver worked with B/E. Aerospace, and after retirement, continued working with Southern Community Bank and Rebb Industries. He was a faithful member of Harmony Grove Friends Meeting, where he served as an usher, and was on the House & Ground Committee. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jack T. Driver and Richard D. Driver, a sister-in-law, Joyce B. Driver, and by a niece, Jackie Driver Edwards. Surviving are his wife Betty Hoots Driver, of the home; 3 nephews, Jason Driver, Michael Driver, Melvin Hoots; and 3 nieces, Tammy Reavis, Cindy Stewart, Diane Linville; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Avery Salmons and Bob Mickles. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Nelson Spaulding and Pastor Brady Morrison, officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Grove Friends Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to either Kate B.
