Hamptonville Mrs. Juanita Ray Pinnix, 90, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Pinnix was born October 27, 1923. She was a lifelong resident of Yadkin County. Mrs. Pinnix and her late husband Al, spent many happy years together. They spent their time tending to the family farm, taking vacations to the beach, and going on family outings with their daughter and grandchildren. Following retirement from Chatham Manufacturing, she spent her time working in her yard, preparing sweets for the family and those who came by for a visit, and with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Jack and Lillie Belle Ray, Mrs. Pinnix was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alton Pinnix; a sister, Edwina Shores; brothers, Lester, Fred, and Aldon Pinnix; half-sisters, Hazel Bumgarner, Ann Martin, and Chi-Chi Pinnix; a half-brother, Edwin Pinnix; and two nephews, Stephen and Billy Shores. She is survived by a daughter, Jan (Sammy) Sloop; grandchildren, Wendy Darnell, Lisa (Tim) Alexander, and Gwen (Robert) Smith; great grandchildren, Skylor and Rianna Darnell; nephews, Clyde (Jean) Shores and Chris (Cathy) Shores; and a half-brother, Joe (Judy) Pinnix. Mrs. Pinnix will be missed by her many friends, in-laws, and other family members. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, April 7, 2014 at 2:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Jonesville with Chaplain Greg Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mtn.
