Stinson Yadkinville - Joy Mae Holcomb Stinson, 81, passed away Monday, April 07, 2014 at her home. She was born May 2, 1932 in Yadkin County to the late Jim Holcomb and Lola Brown Holcomb. She was a member of the Boonville Women's Club, Camel City Cuties Red Hat Club, and Breast Cancer Research Foundation of the Triad. Joy always enjoyed traveling and visiting with all her dearest friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Garlyn "Sissy" Ann Stinson; sister, Gay Benton. Surviving at home, a very special friend, Dan Beck; son, James "Tim" Stinson; daughter-in-law, Kay Stinson; grandchildren, Scarlett Ann (John) Dalrymple, Timothy Brent Stinson; great grandchildren, Amie Altman, Dani Dalrymple, A.J. Dalrymple, Haley Stinson; several other beloved family members. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Mitchell's Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Pillsbury and the Rev. Allen Barker. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Charity Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
