Dale Francis Brown

Hamptonville Mr. Dale Francis Brown, 94, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at his home. Mr. Brown was born March 4, 1920 in Iredell County to Arvie and Ethel Ray Brown. He retired from Western Electric in Winston Salem and spent his remaining years growing and selling produce from his garden. Mr. Brown was a member of Longtown Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a grandson, Nolan Mark Brown; and two brothers, Verol Brown and Arvie Brown, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Ruth Long Brown; two children, Nolan R. Brown and Doris Pearson; three grandchildren, Candice Brown, Jay Pearson, and Katherine Pearson; four great grandchildren, Jason Vance Brown, Juston Mark Brown, Matthew Pearson, and Andrew Pearson; and one great-great grandchild, Charlie Vance Brown. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 2:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Tony Goins and Rev. Albert Everidge officiating. Burial will follow at Longtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice, PO Box 1267 Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to caretakers, Mary, Emily, Pat, Kawana, Donna and Brenda, and to the wonderful staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice for their excellent care and support shown to Mr. Brown and his family.
