Laura Davis Wall

Wall Yadkinville - Mrs. Laura Ruth Davis Wall, age 85, of Yadkinville, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was the wife of Page William Wall, who preceded her in death on January 25, 2014. Laura Ruth was born June 14, 1928 in East Bend, NC, the daughter of the late Jesse Davis and Wilda Laura Lineberry Davis. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Friends Meeting. Laura worked at Hanes Hosiery in Winston-Salem and for the Yadkin County School System. After many years of helping her husband with the farm and carpentry work, Laura and Page enjoyed camping across the country in their motor home. She enjoyed cooking for her family and working on craft projects. In addition to her parents, Laura Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Page; son, Edward Wayne Wall; one brother, Lewis Davis; six sisters, Blanche Carter, Sadie Wooten, Roxie Hobson, Faye Brown, Maye Jarvis, and Pearl Carter. She is survived by two children, Sylvia (Windle) Brown and Gary (Diane) Wall; grandchildren, Elisabeth (Scott) Carter, Vanissa (Bill) Zwigard, and Mark (Michelle) Wall; three great grandchildren, Laura Dobbins, Anna Zwigard, and Chase Wall; four step great grandchildren, Matthew Carter, Jared Carter, Ethan Pendry, and Hannah Pendry; two sisters, Jessie Raye (Jimmie) Smitherman and Edith Carter; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Laura's funeral service will follow the visitation on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Bill Hale, the Rev. Greg Anderson. Burial will follow in Yadkin Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Gilmer Cox. The family would like to thank the staff of Magnolia over Yadkin and Woltz Hospice Home for all the love and care shown to Laura.
