Billy Leo Hayes

Billy Leo Hayes, 83, passed away Tuesday June 3, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Hayes was born February 11, 1931 in Surry County to the late Floyd Roosevelt and Alva Vada Mathis Hayes. Mr. Hayes served in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Martha Jean Jones Hayes; two brothers Roy Hayes and Fred Hayes. Surviving are three daughters Janice (Alan) Eades; Colorado Springs, CO, Linda (Mike) Simmons, Advance; Martha (Tim) Moser, Vacaville, CA; a son Charles (Sandy) Chamelin, Lexington; grandchildren Drew and Jessica Eades, Shannon and Stacey Simmons, Michael and Meagan Moser, Jason Chamelin; four sisters Mozelle Huff, Elkin; Alice Seaford, Mocksville; Jean (Dave) Blake, Thomasville; Marie (Jerry) Gallimore, Lexington; two brothers Bruce (Betty) Hayes, Welcome; Hugh (Sara) Hayes, Sunset Beach; sister in law June Hayes. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Saturday June 7, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Chapel by Rev. Christa Warise. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors by the NC National Guard and VFW Post 10346.
