Plumer Hutchens Wooten

Yadkinville Mrs. Plumer Hutchens Wooten, 93, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Wooten was born May 18, 1921 in Yadkin County to Theodore and Emma Spivey Hutchens. She was a member of South Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Wooten worked at John D. Holcomb store for many years and was also seamstress and enjoyed working in her yard. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wooten was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Harding Wooten; a son, Clyde Steve Wooten; three brothers, Woodrow, Edward, and H.K. Hutchens; two sisters, Ann Wooten and Peggy Stanley; and K-9 Companion, "Little Bit". She is survived by one daughter, Sue (Kent) Brandon; three grandchildren, Sharon (Kenneth) Snyder, Anita (Bob) McKinney, and Robin Wooten; five great grandchildren, Stephanie Snyder, Ariel (Jonathan) Miller, and Robert, Kayla, and Patrick McKinney; one sister, Vonnie (Troy) Wood; one brother, Donald (Blanche) Hutchens; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Monday, June 16, 2014 at 12:00PM at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Hauser officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 11:45AM at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorial may be made to South Oak Ridge Baptist Church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Mrs. Wooten's caregivers, Shirley Baity, Edna Wood, Adeana Waddell and Maxie Caudle for all the love, care, and support shown to her.
