Lydia Penelopy Stokes Dobbins

Mrs. Lydia Penelopy Stokes Dobbins, 90, of Hamptonville died at home on Thursday June 12, 2014. She was born November 15, 1923 to James Arthur and Flora Bell Pinnix Stokes. Lydia was loved by all who knew her for the love and devotion she so unselfishly gave her family and friends. She cherished life and will be greatly missed. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and dearly loved her church family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Eugene Dobbins, and her son, Weldon Odean Dobbins as well as five brothers and three sisters. Surviving are sons, Jimmy Roger Dobbins, Benny Dobbins and Carol of Jonesville, Larry Dobbins of Hamptonville. She was blessed with four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 1 PM to 2 PM, Saturday June 14, 2014 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hamptonville, NC. Her service will follow at 2 PM, with the Rev. Larry Lefler and Rev. Travis Chipman presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Gentry Family Funeral Service is serving the Dobbins family.
