C. L. Mcknight, Jr.

C. L. Mcknight, Jr., 81, passed away Tuesday June 17, 2014 at his residence. Mr. McKnight was born April 1, 1933 in Yadkin County to the late C. L. McKnight, Sr. and Urseal Reece McKnight. He was a member of Charity Baptist Church. Mr. McKnight served with the US Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shelbie Jean Snow McKnight on August 21, 2013. Surviving are his children Michael (Susan) McKnight, Mark (Deanna) McKnight, Tammy Stewart, Mitzi (Virgil) Settle; grandchildren Timothy McKnight, Kristen (Jimmy) Wagoner, Tyler McKnight, Cole Settle, Matthew Settle, and Carter Settle; a sister Kate Burton. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday June 18, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday June 19, 2014 at Charity Baptist Church by Rev. Eddy Driver. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Full Military Honors by the N. C. National Guard and the VFW Post 10346. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice, Elkin Dialysis, and Added Touch Home Care for the loving care given to Mr. McKnight.
