Jenny "Oneda" Cave Tilley

Elkin Mrs. Jenny Oneda Cave Tilley, 81, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Tilley was born September 9, 1931 in Surry County to Gratis and Nina Poteat Cave. She worked for Ger-Rev Manufacturing as a seamstress for many years. Mrs. Tilley enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tilley was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise (Roby Dee) Martin and Hattie Whitaker. She is survived by her husband, Banner Tilley, Jr.; two daughters, Catherine Tilley Holbrook and husband Garvey and Marie Tilley Spicer; five grandchildren, Shane Blackburn and wife Amanda, Crystal Blackburn; Jennifer Wilmoth and husband Jose Ubalde, Cory Wilmoth and wife Kimberly, and Haley Spicer; eight great grandchildren, Nadia, Heavenly, Ethan, Kourtney, Kyle, Cooper, Kamryn, and Kalyn; and two sisters, Catherine Whitaker and Barbara Jean Bates and husband Roy. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 4:00PM at Oak Level Baptist Church with Rev. Matty Ponce de Leon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Jonesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Level Baptist Church, PO Box 123 Roaring River, North Carolina 28669 or to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd Dobson, North Carolina 27017. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Woltz Hospice Home, Dr. William Ballard and Dr. Mihaela Vatca for all the love, support and wonderrul care given to Mrs. Tilley during her illness.
