Jeffrey Clay Smyre, 51, of East Bend, entered into internal rest on July 22, 2014 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. A native of Yadkin County, Jeff was born January 22, 1963 to the late Robie and Betty Chambers Smyre, Sr. Jeff was a 1983 graduate of Forbush High School. He was employed at Valhala Landscaping. Jeff was an active and faithful member of New Patterson Grove Faith Church. Jeff's loves were God, his wife and family. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved sharing his knowledge with anyone willing to learn. His passing leaves a void in the hearts and souls of all that knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, Jeff was preceded in death by his brother Robie Smyre, Jr. He leaves to cherish in his memory a devoted wife Brenda Hill Smyre of the home; three sisters Shirley Scott, Janie Smyre Scott of Yadkinville, Annette (Kenny) Brooks of Boonville; two brothers Randy Smyre of Yadkinville, and James (Phyelis) Smyre of Wilmington; father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hill of Midway, NC; two sisters-in-law Judy (Corky) Hedrick and Brucetta (David) James, both of Midway; a special niece Tracie Hedrick of Midway; a host of nieces and nephews; two great-nephews; a host of family and friends with very special friends Susie and David Clodfelter, Thomas (Angie) Foster and Darryl (Nette) Garner and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones. A special thanks to the staff of 9th floor Oncology and Palliative Care of Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday July 25, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, at other times family will receive friends at the home. His funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday July 26, 2014 at Gentry family Chapel by Rev. Dr. Jamie Grant. Burial will follow at New Patterson Grove Faith Church Cemetery in East Bend.
