Phillips East Bend- Mrs. Ruby Ivalene Davis Phillips, 73, of Friendship Circle passed away peacefully Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born May 7, 1941 in Yadkin County to the late Paul and Rosa Brown Davis. Mrs. Phillips was retired from Inmar Inc. of Winston-Salem. She was very faithful in attending Friendship Baptist Church, as long as her health permitted, and cherished the years helping with Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Phillips enjoyed traveling, watching NASCAR, but loved the time she spent as a devoted mother, grandmother and great- grandmother to her family. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a sister Genevieve Davis and by the father of her special daughters, Grady Phillips. Surviving are her 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Chris Mooney, Myra and Chuck Smith, all of East Bend; her granddaughter, Brooke and husband, Aaron Edmonds of Dobson; great-granddaughter, who was the love of her life, Cathryn Grace Edmonds; a sister, Elsie Jester, Boonville; a niece, Robin Benbow; 3 nephews, Randy Davis, Mike Davis, Donald Jester; special cousins, Mary, Shelba, Linda, and her many special friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Friendship Baptist Church by Rev. Brian Chilton and Rev. Brian Poindexter. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
