Rubin "Bug" Patterson Gardner

Rubin "Bug" Patterson Gardner, 88, passed away Tuesday July 29, 2014 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Gardner was born May 8, 1926 to the late Clovis Edward "Edd" and Nellie Pettis Gardner. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Eloise Brown Gardner, a sister Beaulah Brown, four brothers William Gardner, Cliffton Gardner, Maxton Gardner, and John Gardner. He is survived by a son Ricky (Sissy) Gardner; a daughter Judy (Michael) Matthews; a granddaughter Melissa (Tim) Bennett; two sisters Marie (Lawrence) Prevette, Edith Tilley; a brother Walter Gardner; many nieces and nephews. His funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday July 31, 2014 at Temple Hill United Methodist Church by Rev. Greg Richard and Rev. Charles Jones. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Woltz Hospice Home and Willowbrook Healthcare Center for the loving care given to Mr. Gardner.
