Jonesville Mrs. Betty Lou Swaim Hemric, 74, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Hemric was born May 29, 1940 in Yadkin County to Richard and Ethel Sale Swaim. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hemric was preceded in death by her husband, Garvey Delano Hemric; a daughter, Phyllis Lyons; and a brother, Arvil Swaim. She is survived by four children, Mickey Hemric, Pam (Clyde) Lyons, Michael Hemric, and Wendy (Daryl) Parlier; a son-in-law, Harry Lyons; six grandchildren, Amanda, David, Brittany, Clyde III, Austin, and Andrea; five great grandchildren, Caleb, Carley, Carson, Kason, and Kayden a sister, Maxine Tuttle; five sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 2:00PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Souther, Rev. Larry Lefler, and Rev. Kenneth Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church Youth Fund, 8087 Oak Grove Church Rd, Hamptonville, NC 27020 or to Mtn. Valley Hospice, PO Box 1267 Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice and to special friend, Connie Milam for all the love, care, and support shown to Mrs. Hemric.
