Elna Coe Brewer

Brewer Yadkinville- Mrs. Elna Mae Coe Brewer, 85, of Joe's Drive passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday July 31, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 30, 1928 in Wilkes County to the late Numa and Lillie Irene Campbell Coe. Mrs. Brewer was retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with over 25 years of service. She was a faithful member of Shacktown Church of Christ and enjoyed the time she spent reading her Bible. Mrs. Brewer loved quilting, gardening, traveling, learning about history, and was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Denise Brewer Reynolds, a sister, Charlotte Coe Christie, and a brother, Rhett Allen Coe. Surviving are her beloved daughters, Tresa Brewer (Barry) Splawn, North Wilkesboro, Jolene Brewer Mitchell, Winston-Salem; Grandchildren, Charity Padgett, Adrienne (Rob) Miller, Luke (Nikki) Splawn, Mercie (Jody) Payne, Adam Smythers, Jody (Renae) Mitchell, Hannah (Brandon) Morgan, Thomas Junior "O.J." France; great-grandchildren, Lauren Padgett, Noah Padgett, Rachel Splawn, Anna Splawn, Grace Morgan, Ashlyn Morgan, Barrett Morgan, Matthew Payne, Morgan Payne, Emily Miller, Brendan Miller; sisters, Hilda Josephine "Josie" (Clate) Wingler, Phyllis (Lawrence) Warden, all of Yadkinville; a brother, Billy Gene Coe, Dobson; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Saturday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will be 3:00PM Sunday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Brother Lawrence Warden. Burial will follow in the Shacktown Church of Christ Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to Robin Moore, all of the comfort care staff that includes, Angie, Sandy, Karen, Bree, and Abby, and especially to her sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, and families, for their loving care and support given to Mrs. Brewer.
