Donna Leatherman Layell

Donna Faye Leatherman Layell, 51, passed away Sunday August 3, 2014 at her residence. She was born April 11, 1963 in Surry County to Alfred and Annie Cave Leatherman. She was preceded in death by a sister Charlene Leatherman. Surviving are her parents; sons Justin (Jessica) Layell, Kurt Layell; granddaughter Josey Layell; three sisters Darlene (Carlton) Webb, Ravona (Randy) Abbott, Sherry (Josh) Johnson; special friend Michael Lauer; nephews and family. She was previously employed at Health System Management. She was the Yadkin County Representative for Komen Faces of Breast Cancer. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to her caregivers at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Oncology Floor, Hospice of Forsyth County and all her special friends at work. Friends and family will be received from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Wednesday August 6, 2014 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Gentry Family Chapel by Brother Steve McCollum and Brother Steve Johnson. Burial will follow at Center Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cancer Services 3175 Maplewood Avenue Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Hospice of Forsyth County 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
